1967 Ford Transit Custom

Image
Back in the day I was one of those guys driving a van. It was a 1975 Ford Econoline 150 short wheelbase, with windows only in the two center-opening side doors as well as the two rear cargo doors. The truck was acquired after trading in my 1974 Pinto upon arriving home from a five-week cross-country trip with a friend in his '74 Chevy van (and yes, that was right around the time the "Chevy Van" song by Sammy Johns was getting regular airplay). Before you ask... no, my van wasn't sporting one of those "If you see this van rockin' blah blah blah" bumper stickers. I decided on this British Ford Transit to drive into the Lotto Garage , finding it much more interesting than any US-made van from that era. Okay, it is probably more interesting because — who ever sees one here in North America?! — jc
